“God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him…”
-Friedrich Nietzsche

God is dead. DEAD!
It is a stark contrast to anything that I would have said previously. However, the revelation has forced me to say it. Unfathomable that it has come to this. But unfortunately, it has. Sadly, I have brought myself to say it. Despite the difficulty.
Just as The Believer sets his eyes upon Dusk and Dawn. Upon the natural cycle of life itself as evidences that there is a God. This is his proclamation, his defense, that God exists. I too have looked at that which surrounds me. Yet, I have seen the antithesis. The thing that should not be. That which has left me to utter what was once unthinkable. What I never thought would cross my lips.
What have I seen? What has drawn me down to this revelation?
My eyes bear witness. Men and women. Treading the dirt of the earth. In the throes of passion with Sin. Dancing with Darkness with a smile on their face. Ignorance takes hold of their minds and causes their hearts to rot. They stand upon the pedestal of Confusion. Not knowing Light from Dark. Seeing only Gray. They love their Sin. They coddle their Sin. They become one with their Sin. They defend their Sin against anyone of The Way that voices any semblance of Truth. They choose the company of those that tickle their ears. That stroke Desire with them. That help to feed The Beast. They walk in Distortion. They live in the Shadows. And they love every second of it. Say nothing to them and you will be welcome in their presence. Say anything then you are condemned as the outcast. The one that is wrong. Knows nothing. Judgemental.
Believer, you may say “Yes, we know of them. They are the Unredeemed. They walk in the Darkness because they choose such. They are not evidence that God is dead. They are evidence that they need God. That they need the gift of Salvation that Christ offered from The Cross. Mercy, Forgiveness, Redemption, Justification, Sanctification. A new Life. A life that can only be found if their old sinful self meets Midnight and falls to Death. Much like the symbolic death and resurrection of Christ. They are evidence that life WITHOUT God is dead. God is not dead!”

Yes. I know of them. I see them too. But it is not The Lost that I speak of.
Believer, it is YOU.
You tread the earth bathed in the world, do you not? They see you adorned with fresh ink piercing your flesh. They see you blowing smoke and vapor. They see you praising your sweet poison from the barstool or the man cave. They hear the filthy songs that you sing. They see the filthy images that you watch. They hear the curse words that cross your lips. They see your flesh exposed in sensuality. They see your sexual desires on display. They see your adultery. They see your divorce. Your addiction. Your anger. Your pain. Your hate. They see it all as you proudly wear it out on your sleeve. Innocent you may think you are as you try to hide your actions behind the veil of God’s Love. All the while you shout “Jesus” in vain. As if you can fool them. As if you can fool Him.
They see, above all, failure. The failure of a God to separate His people from the world. The failure of a God to rightly divide the gray into black and white. The failure of a God to remove the scales and bestow upon you renewed sight. The failure of a God to restore your blackened heart. To make it beat once again and pump His blood the other way. They see a failed broken life that is no different than the one from yesterday. They do not see Salvation as you continue with pride in Sin’s mire. They do not see Sanctification as you never change because the thought of “Be Holy for I am Holy” makes you sick. A great offense that makes you squirm in your seat. They do not see His Mercy, Forgiveness, and Redemption because your dead life shows nothing of the such. Then, Believer, it is your life, YOUR LIFE, that forces them to utter the words “God is dead!”.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
-Christ Jesus
For some, maybe they do believe that God is supposed to be alive. That your life only evidences that you are a hypocrite. A fake. For many, however, they want to believe that God is not. And you supply the proof.

The only difference between you and them, as you walk the dark and broken road together, as you grasp the same chains as they, is that you praise Jesus while you do it. But what do you show them? They look upon you, perplexed, as to what Salvation is if you show them that you have not been saved from anything. What is this that you speak of? Saved from Sin while you ride upon it’s back into your open grave? Such foolishness! This God that you speak of, then, must be a figment of your imagination. Created in the realms of your mind. Birthed from paranoia and superstition. Brought forth by weakness. A crutch. A “flying spaghetti monster”. A myth. Something that is dead to them. Something that is dead to you. Someone that is dead. DEAD. Either that or you are a hypocrite. A fake.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
-Paul to The Church in Rome
There is only one way to show them that He is indeed ALIVE. There is only one way to show them that He lives in you. That He too can live in them and breath Life into their Death. To chase away the Darkness with The Light. You must surrender. Submit and bow to His will. Allow Him to burn away the filth and dross. To refine you. To redefine you. To pursue that ill and offensive word- Holiness. To wash Sin’s stains away with the Dawn of a new day. Bathed in His Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness. To let Salvation find you if it has not yet. Then and only then can you show them that God is NOT dead. That Death has no grip on you as they. That Life courses through your veins.
Until then. Until you fall before The Cross in repentance. Until you allow Him to cleanse you of the world that stains you with the filth that you love ever so much. Until you become new and holy. Until then, stop disgracing His Holy name with your unholy living. Stop telling them that “God is dead”.
Actions speak louder…
“…as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
-The Apostle Peter
