You should not argue with a brick wall. You can, yes. But if you want to be heard or want a debate, then you will just exhaust yourself and lose time that you will never regain. 

I had mentioned in my post “What Is Truth?”, that recently I had found myself defending Charlie Kirk in the comment sections. Most of this was in response to an initial post from a Conservative. Yet, The Left chooses to follow The Conservative Voice with the sole purpose of harassing those that want to have a civil like minded conversation amongst themselves. It is almost akin to a group of Christian friends discussing theology in a coffee shop Bible study, only to have an Atheist pull up a chair, listen for a moment, and then mock and ridicule their beliefs. These people have nothing better to do than to insert themselves into the conversation just to push some buttons.

I had lost sight of my purpose in these comment threads. In reality I may have even lost myself. I more than likely said some unflattering things about the psychotic worldview of The Left to some of those that hold steadfast onto their delusional beliefs as being The Truth. I was a poor representation of Jesus. Instead of focusing on The Gospel, I had focused my angry energy on Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Realizing that I was alone and being attacked by 30 leftists like I was in an Ip-Man film, with no help from any other Christians or Conservatives, I immediately withdrew from the conversation and deleted any further notifications. I am sure that once I surrendered, that The Leftists cheered, saying “Yay! We defeated him with our truth that MSNBC said that Charlie was a Nazi!!!”. But I did not surrender because I was proven wrong and could not further my position. I surrendered because I was talking to people that had the intelligence and communication skills of a cinder block. And I was not going to go back down the road with Anger and Frustration again.

The bravery of Charlie Kirk was unmatched. He knew exactly what he was getting ready to go into every time he set the debate stage. Going into a war zone against leftist ideologies. He knew that he would be ridiculed. He knew that he would be called names. He knew that they would talk over him and drown him out. Maybe, deep within the recesses of his mind, he knew that one day they would take his life. It wasn’t a matter of “if”. It was a matter of “when”.

One thing that I have discovered about The Left for every season in my life where I was not thinking clearly and decided to debate them online, is that they do not want to listen. Now, here at Refined4Him, I do distinguish as to what The Left is. I believe that they are a part of the Democrat Party. Not all democrats are leftists. Some do still have common sense and decency. As mentioned before, leftists are the ones that believe absurd lies such as Transgenderism, Critical Race Theory, Climate Change, Abortion, Unvetted Illegal Immigration, Freedom of Criminals, Communism, Socialism, Authoritarianism, Atheism, Satanism, and plenty of other nonsense. Typically they resort to confrontation when they do not get their way or if you do not agree with them. And, as in Charlie Kirk’s case, they will outright take your life or celebrate someone else doing it. They act as if they have no soul. Yet they claim to be tolerant and compassionate. Just as long as you agree with them. Their worldview is already made up. They have sealed their eyes and mind shut. They have determined that everything that Conservatism stands for is evil and racist. They have determined that Christianity is an insane cult full of Useful Idiots, brainwashed by a greedy pedophile pastor, and that God is not real. They are so certain of their beliefs that they refuse to listen to facts that contradict their views. There is nothing wrong with that. For us, God is real. We are willing to debate. But no Atheist has yet to prove to us that He is a figment of our imagination. But they, again, either resort to not listening, shouting, or violence if you try to change their mind or call them wrong. 

There may be some leftists that have hope. Maybe there is some semblance of sanity left within. Maybe The Elites and The Voice have not completely devoured their hearts. But sadly, most are too far gone. Not past the reach of God and the Saving Grace of Christ’s death and resurrection. No one is capable of outrunning the Love of God. But they are too far gone by choice. Because they choose to be deaf to The Truth. To any truth other than their preconceived “truth”. Their truth is rooted in lies and contradictions to reality. Cursed be you if you show them a proven fact. This is why many argue with people like Charlie Kirk. Shouting over top and screaming in the midst of the debate. Many just smirking and rolling their eyes. Their minds are made up. They do not want to hear the opposition. They do not want to reconsider. They are only there to harass, mock, and ridicule. Not all of them. But most.

As Christians we need to not cast our pearls before these dogs and swine. It has become so much harder these past few days to not go into verbal warfare with such abusive language. Biting our tongues may be just as frustrating as arguing. But it will be our tongues that will be our own undoing. Because they do not want to hear the beauty of The Gospel. They do not want to hear the Conservative Movement. They have proven with the death of Charlie Kirk and the subsequent celebrations that they have no desire to talk anymore. They just want a fight. They just want to destroy. Our only option at this point is to speak The Truth without engagement. To blog and vlog with the comment section turned off. To not search the comment sections on social media to try to debate with debased minds. Because all this will allow for our frustration to blind us and a chance for our anger to condemn our own gospel message. All they want is for scores to be even. To prove to the world that we are just as violent and twisted as they. All they want is Chaos. But how will they hear us? Just speak. The right audience will find you. The Conservative that wants advice will find you. The Christian that needs encouragement will find you. We need to be amongst ourselves in the coffee shop. And if Evil wants to pull up a chair, let it. And when he mocks and ridicules, pay him no mind. For his is broken. It is not functioning properly and therefore he has nothing to offer to the conversation. And if he wants to pull a trigger? The Bible never condemns defending yourself.

We may not be able to change The Left. We may not be able to open their eyes to The Truth. But we can at least plant the seeds when they see us respond in Love, Grace, and…

The Truth.

And if that fails? Then we have at least served a great commission.
