Hollow

Forgive them Father. For they choose to feel The Hollow.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

-The Apostle Paul to The Church in Rome

Emptiness they grasp. The hill that they are willing to die on. For some it is a passive thought. They never really give notice to the things that their eyes see. To where tomorrow ends and the forever sleep begins. For some it is an all consuming passionate obsession to remove from life any semblance of The Father, The Son, and those that walk in The Way.

But for both they make a choice. A choice to deny and reject He that sustains the Earth upon the stars in perfect precision. For even the slightest tilt from what is set will lead to the destruction of mankind. A choice to scoff at the thought that humanity was created and set a step above the animal kingdom. An evidence of critical thinking, creation, and relationships denied as they pull us down to dwell on the same plane as the instinctive beasts. A choice to uphold the thought that man came from ape, despite the lack of missing links and the absence of the answer as to who started the process and called for its end.

It is a desire to silence the masses of Christ in the name of Evil. For they know that if what The Bride proclaims is true, then they are wrong. They will have to answer to Him. Whether it be on bended knee in confession here, or on bended knee in judgment in the hereafter. They know that they will have to turn from their pleasures and hedonistic ways. They know that they will have to offer up their chains to be broken upon The Cornerstone. The chains that they have grown to love and adore and the ever so comfortable pain that it offers. A reminder that they are living a life alive in death. Therefore they choose to remain deaf and blind.

“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

-Jesus the Christ

They choose to feel The Hollow. Because it offers an emptiness that brings them the familiar comforter named Hopeless. An icy hand that caresses their shattered hearts. Keeping it together in decay as pieces slip through the cracks. But to them this is all they know. All they want. This is their normalcy. Their reality. It is an enigma as to why this is their desire. Is it a love of the shackles that chafe the flesh? Is it a love of Pain that they embrace? Is it Shame that they cannot turn from? Maybe they are too proud to confess in humility that Christ is King and that they are broken? Or is it all just foolishness to them when they set their eyes upon The Hand of God and His marvelous works?

“But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.”

-The Prophet Zechariah

They deafen themselves to the story of Salvation. Of a hope for something beyond time itself. Of the shackles becoming nothing more than dust. Of a joy unspeakable. Because they are comfortable by the guidance of Midnight’s Sun. The Light disrupts this comfort by exposing the deeds that they embrace so much. The constant desire to watch themselves bleed just to assure them that their flesh is still alive. Yet their souls are held captive by the grave. Therefore the name of Christ must be silenced. Because it is a reminder of The Son that chases The Darkness into oblivion. They do not want it to depart, for it is the pillow that gives them their restless rest. They do not want the reminder. They do not want the knowledge of The Redeemer. Therefore The Redeemed must succumb to The Silence. Still they must be so that The Darkness can grow.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

-The Apostle Paul to The Church at Corinth

Despair, Hopeless, Empty. These be thy friends as they entangle themselves further into the chains that they embrace or deny as Depression and Addiction laugh at them. At their ignorance. At their utter foolishness in denial of The Cross.

Forgive them Father. For they know what they do. They choose to feel The Hollow.

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”

-Psalm 14:1
